About Us

There are quite a few of us Telugu Catholics living in USA for some time, going all the way back to 1982. All of us are blessed in many ways to be able to leave our homeland and come all the way across the globe to this great nation, some for higher studies and some for better employment opportunities. Although we live very comfortable lives in the US, we also remember and recognize our roots in India, where we were born, raised, and studied. We also recognize the conditions in which we lived and we know how many others around us were not as fortunate to be able to do what we were able to do, especially due to very poor financial conditions. We felt responsible, in some way, to give back to the more underprivileged people in the area where we came from. We also realized that the amount of need is so overwhelming that just few of us will not be able to meet our goal ourselves. This dire need motivated us to take on a challenge to start an organization that can help. Formation of the ‘American Telugu Roman Catholic (ATRC) Foundation’ was the result of our attempt to help meet the basic financial needs of very poor school going children, orphans, and old-age people in Telugu states of India.

Our Mission

The main mission of ATRC Foundation is to financially help poor school students, orphans, and old-age people in Telugu states of India, in their education and life sustenance .

What We Are

ATRC is a charitable foundation, a non-profit organization registered in the state of North Carolina, and determined to be exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501 (C) (3), to raise funds for the sole purpose of helping poor school students, orphans, and old-age people in India. All donors can deduct their donations and contributions they make under IRC section 170.

How We Work

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization ATRC Foundation is funded solely by the individual donors and organizations or corporations. We have organized many local chapters in all regions of USA and we approach our brothers and sisters, organizations and corporations to bring awareness of the situation we're in and encourage them to be part of this genuine cause by financially supporting us within their means.

We implement opportunities through other organizations such as GuideStar and Amazon Smile, to enable their customers to choose ATRC Foundation as their choice of charity to support during their transactions.
